Frontier Gear of Alaska Brooks Range Jacket
This is our famous jacket that Bob designed twenty years ago while hunting sheep in the Brooks Range. The jacket is now in use by sheep hunters all over the world from Tajikistan to Siberia as well as a layering piece for Polar Bear Hunting. The jacket uses the finest insulation available- Primaloft sport synthetic insulation. We use a Pertex Quantum endurance waterproof breathable fabric for the shell material.
The jacket has zippered, fleece lined pockets as well as a fleece-lined collar. The front zipper has a built in storm guard over the front YKK Derlin zipper. The bottom of the jacket has adjustable hem cords to prevent wind from entering the jacket.
There is also an optional removable zip-off baffled hood for additional weather protection. Even though this jacket has a waterproof breathable exterior for conditions where rain and snow may be mixed it is not designed as a one hundred percent waterproof jacket. The Brooks Range Jacket occupies very little space (approximately 6x10 inch stuff sack) and is our most popular insulated outerwear piece.
This jacket is a necessity for any hunts where you are sitting glassing for long periods of time or you are in cooler conditions. The Brooks Range jacket will become one of your favorite pieces of hunting equipment. It also looks good as a casual wear garment. Average weight is 30 oz.

Frontier Gear of Alaska 8x8 Bomb Shelter
We have custom designed the BOMBSHELTER© with the best materials and workmanship for use in Alaska’s severe climate. This tent is currently being used by hunters, guides and outfitters from the Alaska Peninsula to the ice caps of Greenland. We use a specially reinforced, UX resistant polyester rip stop material with a 5000mmm waterproof coating for the full coverage rainfly. Huge #10 YKK coil zippers secure the doors and a 4 oz. super coat floor all add to the tent’s durability. We use beefy 1” aircraft aluminum shock-corded poles for quick and easy set-up and strength. In addition to all of these features we incorporate a double door/double vestibule with see-through windows so you can check out your camp without leaving the comforts of the tent.
With over 30 stake out points you can secure the BOMBSHELTER© in high wind areas. We even include the guy lines with shock cord to help anchor the tent even further. The tent has a removable interior clip in floor for ease of cleaning. All of the stress areas are reinforced and the seams are factory sealed. We do not compromise on any of the tents components to lower the tent cost….it is our philosophy to build the best or don’t build it at all. Our tents have been field tested for over 25 years. WE now also offer a net sitting enclosure that can be attached on either door. This option is great when the bugs are bad and the view is good. Helly Hansen Impertech Rain Jacket
This rain jacket has been a standard for Alaska hunters for many years. The Impertech raingear is a 100% waterproof raingear. It is lightweight and has a built in 4-way stretch. The outer material will not absorb blood and is quiet going through the brush. With heavy activity you can expect to sweat in this raingear but it will keep you dry from harsh wet weather conditions. This is our favorite raingear for moose hunting and spring bear hunts. This is a very basic raingear, but it works. Average weight – 30 oz.

Frontier Gear of Alaska Sourdough Slipper
Bob designed these hip boot style over-boots after having to wade creeks and bogs while out hunting and where a majority of the time a standard boot would be much more comfortable to wear than being in hip-boots. We now have floatplane pilots, surveyors, dog sled musher’s and hunters that are true believers in this unique item. They are designed to be worn over your regular footwear. The Sourdough Slipper are a weight saving alternative to hip boots on hunts where occasional wet areas are encountered.
They are not intended to replace hip boots but to offer an alternative. These over boots are available in two weights, the standard version has a medium weight upper and the new HD version has a more abrasion resistant cordura nylon upper. Both styles have a Vibram sole, reinforced rand, Velcro belt loop to hold the over–boot and an adjustable leg cinch to help keep out water if the creek is deeper than you thought. These boots also come with a nylon storage bag. They are compact enough to roll up and put in a daypack and weigh about 37oz. per pair in the standard version and about 10 oz. more in the HD version. The Sourdough Slippers are a great addition to anyone’s hunting gear.

Mammut HP Champ Pant
This pant is made from a Swiss made fabric from Schoeller called dry skin extreme fabric. The pant was originally designed for use by mountain climbers for use in the harshest conditions. The fabric is highly abrasion resistant and is very effective at blocking the wind, wicking moisture away from the body, and has excellent quick drying capabilities.
It also has 4-way stretch for easy mobility. This pant is the most tailored of the pants that we offer, it has two front zip pockets, one rear zippered pocket and a Velcro front cargo pocket. The pants have belt loops, suspender buttons, zippered fly, and reinforced knees. This pant is available in tall sizes.
If you are looking for a pant that will go from use as a travel pant to the demands of field hunting the Champ pant may be your best choice. Average weight 22oz.
